The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Indiana University, Bloomington (https://psych.indiana.edu/), invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track position at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor to begin August 1, 2026. The qualified candidate will contribute to a new, highly innovative, and rigorous Bachelor of Science degree program in Clinical Psychological Science ( see: https://psych.indiana.edu/undergraduate/clinical-psych-bs.html ). This rapidly growing major is the first of its kind in the country and provides undergraduates with classroom and practicum-based training in experimental psychopathology and evidence-based assessment, intervention, dissemination, and implementation following a clinical science training model ( for more on the Clinical Science B.S. major see: https://psych.indiana.edu/news-events/news/2025/clinical-science-major.html ).
Job duties consist primarily of undergraduate teaching as well as community outreach, coordination, and supervision of applied clinical experiences (i.e., internships & practica at local mental health and community-based organizations). We seek an individual with experience in teaching Research Methods in Clinical Science, Psychological Assessment and Testing, Abnormal Psychology, or evidence-based clinical interventions courses on disorders and topics within the candidate's primary area of specialization (e.g., substance use disorders, mood disorders, trauma and related disorders, eating disorders, developmental disorders, etc.).
Candidates should be committed to a career of excellence in teaching and service, including coordinating degree requirements for the major, advising undergraduate students in academic and professional pursuits, and serving on departmental committees (e.g., student awards, undergraduate curricular planning). Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the time of the appointment, August 1, 2026, and undergraduate teaching experience. Preferred qualifications include training in the clinical science model of clinical psychology with PCSAS or similar accreditation; instructor of record for undergraduate courses; Clinical Psychology license or license eligible in the state of Indiana ( HSPP or HSPP eligible); and supervision and/or clinical experience in evidence-based services (e.g., intervention, assessment, implementation, dissemination). This will be a full-time non-tenure track, faculty appointment beginning with a 3-year renewable appointment, with promotion opportunities to Associate Clinical Professor and then Full Clinical Professor, based on demonstrated excellence in teaching and/or service.

Basic Qualifications
