Position Summary
The Clinical Skills and Threads Coordinator is responsible for coordination of learning content related to longitudinal curricular threads and providing operational support to the curricular threads. This primarily supports Clinical Skills (CS) training and operations, Community and Population Health (CPH), and Anatomy operations, and also provides support to other curricular threads and thread leaders appointed by the Office of Curriculum such as Evidence Based Medicine (EBM), Resiliency and Professional Identity Formation (RPIF), and Interprofessional Education (IPE).
This position facilitates mission-critical processes and learning activities in the Medical School necessitating interaction and communication with students, faculty, staff, and administration. They play a significant role in managing, organizing, distributing, and achieving curricular materials, operational support to centers and teaching facilities, managing teaching sessions, coordinating student assessment and faculty evaluations, and support for patient-centered learning activities.
As part of a team responsible for entering, maintaining, and analyzing highly confidential data, the coordinator is expected to maintain strict privacy and is expected to cultivate, develop, and manage relationships with students, faculty, and fellow staff members. As a member of the Office of Curriculum, the coordinator should be adaptable to the constantly changing needs of the curriculum and students and is obligated to participate in life-long learning. Organizationally, this position reports to the Director of Curriculum but primarily supports the day-to-day activities of the Director of Clinical Skills, collaborating with the Standardized Patient Coordinator and other clinical training faculty and staff, and support for anatomy and other thread leads.

Support the Clinical Skills (CS) curriculum and serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day operations regarding clinical skills coursework. Duties (include but not limited to):
- Managing the CS curriculum calendar to ensure timely delivery of content.
- Preparing for weekly CS teaching activities, including reserving rooms and managing supplies.
- Posting CS content to the learning management system (D2L) and achieving data using the technology tools of the Office of Curriculum.
- Assigning student groups to schedules including making changes mid-year.
- Communicating with hospitals regarding weekly Year 2 CS hospital encounter schedules.
- Collecting CS grades from educational or data collection systems (such as SimCapture, D2L).
- Coordinating CS D2L and Banner grade entry and archival.
- Monitoring student assignment submissions, late grades, performance evaluations, and hospital make-up dates.
- Being available for equipment dismantles and room clean up after teaching sessions.
- Communicating schedule and curricular updates to students, when required.
- Coordinating and facilitating faculty access to curricular schedules and content and assisting with electronic platform navigation.
- Distributing mid-module and end of semester student assessments and faculty evaluations to stakeholders in curriculum evaluation management system (One45).
- Coordinating and managing faculty development activities, as well as polling, scheduling, and sending calendar invites.
- Assist with operations support in the clinical skills center.
Provide logistical support for training initiatives in other curricular threads as required by thread leads, such as Community and Population Health (CPH), Evidence Based Medicine (EBM), Ethics, Resiliency and Professional Identity Formation (RPIF), and Interprofessional Education (IPE), or as assigned. Duties (include but not limited to):
- Helping to coordinate patient encounters.
- Supporting D2L content arrangement and management.
- Supporting One45 data management.
- Supporting appropriate curriculum calendar construction and maintenance.
- Supporting and facilitating faculty-led Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) assessment of student clinical competence.
- Supporting scheduling and communication related to threads.
Provide logistical support for anatomy curriculum and operations. Duties (includes but not limited to):
- Work with the Director of Anatomy to determine needs for support of the anatomy laboratory, donor body program, and resources. Provide support as required.
- Support scheduling and educational logistics in the anatomy program and laboratory.
Support curricular operations in various ways as assigned. Duties (include but not limited to):
- Manage curriculum content scheduling and posting, assessment coordination and delivery (including proctoring), course number (CRN) audit, and curriculum data entry/retrieval for the Offices of Curriculum and Registrar, as needed and assigned.
- Manage thread content on learning support systems such as D2L and One45.
- Assisting in the generation of Year 1 and Year 2 module reports, faculty hour reports, and curriculum management reports for the Associate Dean for Curriculum and Registrar.
- Assisting the Assessment Coordinator in exam building and administration, including compilation of post-exam student performance data and data communication for faculty review.
- Working with the Curriculum Operations & Data Management Coordinator to collate and manage student evaluation packages, student/team assignments and student assessments, faculty/module evaluations in One45.
- Assisting with the annual Office of Curriculum report.
- Proctoring exams when required.
- Representing and supporting Office Administration, as needed.
- Support daily curricular operations, as needed.
