Description
Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic is looking for a compassionate Clinical Supervisor to join their fast-paced team! The Clinical Supervisor supervises technicians and supports established procedures and protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients. This role will work hand in hand with management to ensure that the hospital's priorities are being carried out and that the team is well supported.Clinical Supervisor
Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Brewer, ME
This position is full-time, and requires flexible scheduling and availability for weekend and overnight shift work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling technicians according to departmental needs, e.g. monitor work efficiency, maintain proper staffing levels and minimize overtime.
- Train new staff in their responsibilities; mentor all staff regarding performance and training needs. Expose staff to all areas of the hospital in order to illustrate how their role fits in to overall team strategy.
- Supervise technicians and other medical personnel in various hospital departments.
- Coach direct reports
- Assist in the delivery of employee evaluations.
- Perform the duties of technician as established.
- Work with other departments regarding patient care and hospital operations; resolving escalated issues as needed.
- Create structure and lead technician meetings.
- Exhibit confidentiality and professionalism regarding all employee issues; be proactive in approach to issue resolution.
- Keep current with leadership skills by attending workshops and relevant courses.
- Support and enforce hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with peers for consistency within supervisory role.
- Keep hospital management informed of any issues or risks that might impact operations or employee relations; work with leadership team to resolve.
- Maintain effective communication.

Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital, prior emergency veterinary experience strongly preferred
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a veterinary clinical setting preferred
- Must be a licensed or credentialed veterinary technician
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Inventory Management skills
- Self-starter and team player
- Intermediate to expert computer skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
