Job DescriptionThe Department of Child Psychiatry General for the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) has an exciting opportunity for a Health Program Manager for the Maryland Behavioral Health Integration in Pediatric Primary Care (BHIPP) program. The selected candidate will work with the Program Director to meet programmatic goals, achieve program objectives, and ensure timeline and deadlines are met.
Maryland Behavioral Health Integration in Pediatric Primary Care (BHIPP) supports the efforts of primary care clinicians to assess and manage the mental health needs of their patients from infancy through the transition to young adulthood through free consultation, training, co-location internship, telemental health offerings, and technical assistance. The Health Program Manager will manage the implementation of an expansion the current co-location internship and will provide supervision and oversight to master's level social work and/or counseling interns. This position involves in-state travel to internship sites in rural areas of Maryland.

Primary Duties
- Provides daily oversight and management of the colocation internship program. Oversees daily operations; organize program activities; and set priorities in collaboration with director. Communicates effectively with program partners including universities and pediatric primary care sites.
- Manages recruiting, selecting, and matching interns to clinical placements.
- Coordinates and implement site visits to pediatric primary care sites.
- Provides clinical supervision for four (4) or more masters level interns who are placed in pediatric primary care sites.
- Reviews and oversee data entry of student interns.
- Supervises masters level clinical staff who provide referral and resource support and care coordination.
- Sets goals and creates tactics to achieve program objectives. Hires and trains staff as needed.
- Collaborates with research and evaluation partners.
- Collaborates with the training team to ensure organization and implementation of intern training sessions.
- Attends continuing educational training events for supervisors.
- Co-facilitates group interventions for parents in the community with interns.
- Organizes and facilitates programmatic meetings as assigned.
- Develops meeting agendas, transcribes minutes, and identifies action items.
- Coordinates and facilitates ongoing collaboration between multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate with the BHIPP team to ensure interns have access to statewide resource and referral database.
- Provides organizational support for the BHIPP program.
- Assists in the conceptualization, development, and preparation of documents such as standard operating procedures, case report forms, as well as training materials, website content, and promotional materials.
- Provides solutions to issues and judgment outside of pre-established guidelines or processes.
- Collects, maintains, and facilitates program data in compliance and with programmatic reports required by sponsors. Oversees the preparation of summary reports and serves as an information resource to coworkers, the university, and external figures.
- Provides routine and non-routine technical advice, problem solving assistance, and answer questions.
- Interprets program goals and policies, and provide administrative support to the program team.
- Recommends resources for the improvement of the program.
- Supports the Program Director in developing funding applications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or other related field. Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience involving program planning and coordination experience in a related field is required. Clinical experience providing psychotherapy to pediatric population is strongly preferred. Experience providing supervision and training to mental health trainees preferred. Experience working primary care of other medical settings highly preferred.
Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of direct supervision.
Certification/Licensure: LCPC, LCSW-C, or Psychologist. Must be eligible for certification as a board approved supervisor by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors. Existing certification as board approved supervisor is preferred.
Other: No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Clinical background in evidence-based psychotherapies. Experience providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents. Outstanding communication and organizational skills. Detail orientated with excellent follow through on tasks. Ability to work independently with supervision as needed. Ability to travel in-state. Effective presentation skills including ability to create and deliver clear and effective teaching. Facility with Microsoft office suite, Google suite, Zoom, Canva. Thorough knowledge of position requirements. Thorough knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Ability to support a mission and strategic vision. Instructional, training, and teambuilding skills to strengthen and cultivate relationships. Skill in consultation and change management. Ability to demonstrate, understand, apply, and adhere to the UMB Core Values of Respect and Integrity, Well- being and Sustainability, Equity and Justice, and Innovation and Discovery.
Hiring Range: $98,000 - $102,000, commensurate with education and experience.
