The Clinical Quality Process Improvement Services team is currently seeking a Consultant or Managing Consultant to join its growing practice. The Consultant/Managing Consultant demonstrates a deep understanding of all technical, operational, process and management aspects around nursing workflows, quality performance, and surgical outcomes as focus areas engagements as well as a thorough understanding clinical and operational principles. The Consultant/Managing Consultant demonstrates deep clinical subject matter expertise, and leadership skills, and the ability to meet client financial and operational goals including sustainable improvements in:
• Clinical Patient Outcomes
• Quality
• Key performance metrics
• Costs
• Nursing Education/Workflows
• Infection Prevention and Sterile Techniques
Responsibilities
• Develop credibility and rapport with health system leadership, physicians, and staff in a client-facing capacity during both the assessment and implementation phases of the project
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure overall engagement success
• Lead and assist in developing solutions, creating large portions of client deliverables under supervision, and providing meaningful intellectual contributions to the engagement
• Act as a regular point of contact for the client on an engagement
• Actively participate in and support the career development of junior consulting staff
• Continue to expand firm-building activities by assuming managerial roles for such functions as recruiting, training, or staff coordination
• Begin to participate in developing project proposals and contributing to the creation of thought leadership papers, journal articles and presentations
Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to independently create client deliverables
• Ability to teach labor productivity concepts, practices, verbiage, and benchmarking
• Operational and Analytical skills
• Time management skills that enable supporting multiple engagements
• Expected to actively participate on Perioperative Services initiatives and independently lead smaller initiatives
• Expanded operational knowledge of most procedural departments such as the Operating Room, PACU, Ambulatory Surgery, Sterile Processing, Preadmission Testing, Endoscopy, and the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
• Expanded clinical knowledge of critical care units such as Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Neuro- ICU, Transplant ICU, and Medical- Surgical Units including firsthand experience as a leader, bedside, and preceptor.
• Contribute to Infection Prevention Standard Precautions
• Contribute to Sepsis Improvement Efforts
• Educate healthcare professionals over evidence-based protocols and clinical pathways
• Experience with Nursing Transition to Practice or Formalized Nursing Education
• Ability to present and speak to a large audience
• Ability to coach and supervise other team members
• Facilitations skills ability to facilitate workgroup or design sessions, planning and implementing new processes with physicians, nurses and other non-clinicians
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or other health related fields is required
• 4-8 years of relevant experience is required; Prior experience in a consulting or professional services firm is strongly preferred
• Experience presenting educational and sales materials to a large audience is required
• Willing to travel consistently (typically 50% - 75%, depending on project requirements and client expectations) is required
Job title and compensation to be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Consultant Salary Range: $70,000 $150,000
Managing Consultant Salary Range:$100,000 $230,000
Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
