Join IU Health as a Full-Time Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPD) at IU Arnett's Maternal Child Health Unit in Lafayette, IN!
Become a vital part of IU Arnett's Maternal Child Health team, supporting the ongoing education and professional growth of our nursing staff. In this full-time role, you will serve as a Learning Facilitator, Change Agent, Mentor, Leader, Champion for Inquiry, and Advocate for the NPD Specialty-dedicated to fostering excellence in maternal and child health nursing care.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Promoting and advocating for innovative professional development programs and curricula tailored to the needs of our Maternal Child Health units, including Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, NICU, and Pediatrics-covering onboarding, ongoing clinical expertise, and competency development.
- Modeling the application of evidence-based practices relevant to maternal and child health care, demonstrating a strong commitment to the scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Providing strategic direction and support to meet educational needs identified through assessments, regulatory standards, and quality outcomes data within the Maternal Child Health units.
- Serving as a role model and expert for clinical educators, championing their ongoing growth and professional development within these specialized areas.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to foster a culture of continuous learning, safety, and clinical excellence.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, day shift - no weekends, holidays, or call required!

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree of Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master's Degree of Nursing (MSN) or current enrollment in an MSN program preferred.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department policies.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Two years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed to meet educational needs across the system.
- Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of adult learning principles.
- Experience in Maternal Child Health, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatrics, or related areas preferred.
