The University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry (UIC COD) is seeking a full-time, on-time, Program Coordinator (Assistant Director of Academic Affairs) to join a worldwide leader in oral health education, clinical care and research that is patient –centered and evidence-based. This position has a 12-month probationary period and requires the position to be on-site. After successful completion of the probationary period, up to one day per week of remote work may be possible.
The College of Dentistry is the largest oral health college in the State of Illinois, provides care for 35,000 patients a year, and has over 500 students seeking dental degrees including DMD, PhD and Master’s programs.
The Assistant Director plays a critical part in supporting and advancing the academic mission of the College. The Assistant Director will coordinate academic initiatives, manage curriculum processes, and ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards. This position requires strong collaboration with faculty, staff, and administrative leadership to maintain excellence in academic programs, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
Minimum acceptable qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.) Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required. A minimum of 1 year experience with research or administrative support within a health-related field or post graduate education.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree, 3 years of experience with academic policies, curriculum management, and accreditation processes. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills to manage multiple academic initiatives simultaneously, strong written and verbal communication skills for policy documentation and stakeholder engagement, knowledge of institutional and accreditation standards, and familiarity with academic management systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
The budgeted salary range for the position is $65,000 to $75,000/year. Final rate offered will take into consideration internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a rate at or near the top of the full range for a position.
