Description
DescriptionSalary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
Note: There are multiple positions available.
The Office of Innovation and Economic Development is SIU's primary outreach arm to the region, offering business development, workforce innovation, economic development, and community engagement services and activities throughout Southern Illinois.
This position provides direct support and coordination of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) promoting clean energy businesses in IL grant-funded programs within the SIU Office of Innovation and Economic Development (OIED) department in conjunction with and under the direction of the CEJA program leadership.
Examples of Duties
This position supports CEJA grant-funded programs focusing on business coaching, technical assistance, training, outreach, and program development.
Pending ongoing grant funding, duties for this position include:
1.) Implement CEJA program priorities, business coaching, tech assistance, training, business development advisement, program workshop facilitation, and business professional networking support;
2.) Provide program knowledge, market research, and expertise of CEJA program procedures, technical specifications, help develop business plans and financials related to the field;
3.) Develop and manage CEJA programs, and special projects;
4.) Provide advocacy and outreach that promotes CEJA grant objectives
5.) Manage and coordinate CEJA program resources, implement CEJA program operating policies and processes; review, initiate programs and operations; implement policies relating to utilization of CEJA grant program resources;
6.) Participate in coordinating CEJA program objectives and long-range planning;
7.) Provide management reports, research, compile, and analyze data, and information for grant reporting guidelines;
8.) Maintain participant information in customer relationship management database
9 .) Some in-state travel for networking and matchmaking events required, as needed.
10.) Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. A total of three (3) years in education, training and/or work experience in business management, energy innovation, marketing, finance, and/or technical curriculum development.
(Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
3. Valid driver's license.
Supplemental Information
Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.

About Civil Service Examination/Testing: The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of application materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, your application will move forward for examination/testing in which you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. This score will be emailed to the email address noted on your application. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview.
