Description
We are seeking a Research Program Coordinator (RPC) who will work as part of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. The RPC will conduct clinically oriented research in trials investigating the prevention and cure of type 1 diabetes.Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with IRB and other regulatory submissions.
- Place and disseminate advertisements for study recruitment.
- Assist with development and refinement of study operating procedures.
- Complete participant recruitment, initial study eligibility screening and obtaining informed consent.
- Facilitate completion of and/or conducts study-related surveys as needed.
- Schedule participant visits through CRU Online.
- Assist with study visit procedures including coordinating nursing time for the continuous glucose monitor placement and administration of a meal tolerance test, prepping orders in EPIC, serial blood draws during the meal tolerance test and biospecimen collection/ processing for long-term storage.
- Assist with obtaining blood pressure readings and participant weights and other study measures.
- Assist with participant reimbursements/parking vouchers.
- Handle correspondence to study participants and collaborators, as appropriate.
- Participate in the training of students on participant recruitment, obtaining informed consent, data collection, entry and cleaning.
- Supervise student research assistants.
- Provide prompt and effective interaction with study investigators and review personnel, as appropriate.
- Maintain study-related records.
- Complete data entry, cleaning, organizing and tabulating for a multi-faceted database of all assessment and outcome data.
- Responsible for maintaining all relevant data in a systematic manner for subsequent review and clarification
- Maintain a current backup of research data and ensures the security and confidentiality of the data.
- Provide graphic representation of research data such as summary sheets or graphs for review by the Investigators.
- Participate in site monitoring visits and other periodic audits.
- Contribute to agenda for weekly research meetings.
- Must attend study meetings with investigators to ascertain progress on protocols and to communicate any problems or concerns.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use independent judgement to screen and complete study assessments under supervision of study investigators
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to carry out protocols with human volunteers of diverse socioeconomic and racial and ethnic populations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and data analytic programs
- Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in the conduct of clinical research, including familiarity with participant recruitment, or prior work experience in clinical research setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience conducting basic statistical analysis.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY (33,540 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
