The Research Scientist contributes to the design and execution of evidence-based efficacy studies that evaluate the impact of Edmentum’s educational products and services. This role accesses and analyzes data, collaborates with internal and external researchers, and supports documentation and presentations to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). The Research Scientist applies rigorous research methods and communicates findings to inform product development and educational outcomes. Specifics include:
- Conduct experimental, quasi-experimental, correlational, qualitative, and mixed methods studies aligned with WWC and ESSA standards
- Analyze quantitative data using statistical methods (e.g., regression, mixed models) and tools such as R, Python, SAS, or Stata.
- Collaborate with districts, vendors, universities, and internal teams to support study execution and documentation.
- Prepare research briefs, technical documents, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Contribute to thought leadership through conference presentations and TAC engagement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, based on business needs and individual capacity.
Requirements
Completed PhD in Educational Research, Quantitative Methods, Educational Psychology, Psychometrics, or related field.
2 or more years of independent research experience.
Experience with applied funded research projects or evaluations.
Proficiency in R, Python, SAS, or Stata; experience with AWS preferred.
Familiarity with WWC and ESSA standards of research rigor.
Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences.
Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of educational technology products and instructional systems.
