The Position:
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Senior Clinical Materials Handler to join our team. This position is ideal for candidates with a proven track record in clinical supply chain operations, inventory management within healthcare, or clinical settings. The Senior Clinical Materials Handler will play a key role in overseeing material handling processes, mentoring junior staff, and driving process improvements to support clinical operations.
(This is a full-time, onsite position based from our South San Francisco office with a schedule of Monday - Friday)
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming reagents, consumables, and other clinical materials, verifying accuracy, quantity, and quality in accordance with purchase orders and regulatory requirements.
 - Manage and optimize storage systems for clinical and hazardous materials, maintaining strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality control standards.
 - Prepare and maintain documentation for the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials using both manual records and automated systems.
 - Utilize NetSuite ERP and related inventory platforms to track, manage, and report material flow, ensuring accurate stock levels and adherence to FIFO practices.
 - Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
 - Collaborate cross-functionally with laboratory, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and proactively address potential delays or constraints.
 - Lead inventory audits and physical counts, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
 - Coordinate hazardous waste management, including scheduling pick-ups, signing manifests, and maintaining documentation for audits.
 - Support freezer maintenance activities, including manual defrosts and temperature monitoring, ensuring equipment compliance and reliability.
 - Champion continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and implementing best practices in material handling and logistics operations.
 - Perform additional duties as assigned by Supply Chain leadership.
 
Who You Are:
- Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant coursework or certification (e.g., APICS, CPM) is a plus.
 - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in clinical or healthcare materials handling.
 - Strong attention to detail, documentation, and organizational skills.
 - Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements.
 - Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/inventory management software.
 - In-depth knowledge of regulations related to clinical materials handling and storage (GCP, GMP, OSHA).
 - Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
 - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
 
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Veracyte is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
