JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Human Resources team is looking for a Vice President, Carried Interest and Equity Program Administrator, to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for the financial accounting, budgeting and forecasting of new and existing carried interest and equity compensation plans along with the financial accounting of various programs.
This position will be based in Chicago or New York to support the close partnership with HR, Finance and Treasury. It is expected that minimally, the candidate may travel quarterly to New York to support the quarter-end closing process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support activities related to the Restricted Unit Plan and JP Morgan Workplace Solutions processes.
- Liaise with support functions and internal stakeholders, including risk and control groups, audit, compliance, implementation, and investor relations on employee coinvest and carried interest awards (e.g., for grants, competitive offers, etc.).
- Assist with preparation of upload files and RU tax processing, including running and reviewing reports for grants, settlements, and vesting.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Manager, Finance, Treasury, and Independent Auditors to provide payroll supporting documents.
- Establish monthly accounting processes for tracking incentive compensation and equity plans.
- Conduct analysis, financial modeling, and internal reporting to support financial performance.
- Maintain books and records of Private Equity funds, demonstrating knowledge of fund structures and accounting flows.
- Review fund governing documents and ensure correct application of terms and conditions.
- Manage year-end processes and handle requests from external auditors and tax teams.
- Assist in financial analysis and reporting related to compensation on the P&L, including budgets, forecasts, and long-term planning.
- Prepare and review periodic Net Asset Valuations and financial reporting packs.
- Prepare and review capital call and distribution calculations, including investor notices and reconciliations.
- Ensure smooth procedures for equity accounting with Payroll, Compensation, and Benefit Managers, Tax, Treasury, General Ledger, and FP&A to understand financial trends and perform variance analysis.
- Oversee equity program data maintenance and reconciliation, collaborating with HR, Tax, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, outside fund administrators and carry program administrators.
- Manage equity grant uploads, generate reports, and address inquiries regarding plan administration.
- Process and monitor equity award activity, including grants, vesting, exercises, and terminations and ensure integrity of plan participant and equity data.
- Ensure compliance with equity plan documentation, legal, and tax requirements.
- Support annual and ad hoc equity grants, participant enrollment, and vesting processes.
- Assist in monthly accounting tasks related to equity compensation.
- Collaborate on equity-related matters, including report generation and ad hoc requests.
- Create custom reports and dashboards for informed equity decisions.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Communicate and coordinate with third-party equity administrators and audit transactions within JP Morgan Workplace Solutions (formerly Global Shares) and potential other vendors.
- Conduct regular audits, analysis, and reconciliations with large data sets and complex calculations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA or CFA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in administering carried interest programs, equity compensation, private equity fund accounting, or a related field.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Strong understanding of carried interest programs, equity compensation plans and private equity fund structures.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with EWM, Global Shares or similar equity management systems.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual base salary within the specified range is comprised of several components, including but not limited to applicant's skill, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and the location of the position.
This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance).

Salary Range
$175,000 - $225,000
