Working at Camp Augusta is unlike any other summer experience. Each day is filled with growth, joy, creativity, connection, and a sense of wonder. As a staff member, you'll have the opportunity to challenge yourself, learn and teach a variety of activities, and push the limits of what's possible alongside passionate campers and fellow staff. Village Program Coordinator (Village Hands) role:
We love saying yes to ideas here. Bridging the gap between imagination and reality, this position (typically referred to as the “Village Hands”) is a leadership role that works alongside the 4 village leaders and 1 village “Brain” to make our many small and large programs possible. Pushing the limit beyond what campers can do at home or even at other camps, the Hands takes the ideas of the campers, counselors, and villages and helps make them possible with their skills of coordination, organization, and materials management! From smoothie bikes to human spinning wheels to camp-made race cars to a 15 ft XYZ cannon that can shoot a potato 300+ feet to a Fresnel lens, you’ll get to let your imagination run wild and be a part of the action daily. Take a look through some of our Cabin Activities and imagine being the maestro behind this magic.
In addition to this ‘large chunk’ of your role, it’s summer camp, meaning it’s also a bit of everything everywhere all at once. :) You’ll teach 2 or more of our huge selection of activities each day, play in our epic evening programs, and much, much more.
A Day in the Life of the Village Hands:
- Collaborate with the Village Leader team to organize both cabin and camp-wide activities.
- Gather materials and assist with setup for up to 20 cabin activities each weekday.
- Guide counselors in brainstorming and planning 5 cabin activities each week.
- Manage donor thank-you cards and postcards—coordinate writing and distribution to cabins.

- Organize and set up 4 Village Activities during each two-week session.
- Support special programming throughout the season.
- Manage the Village Leader supply list, ensuring resources are well-stocked.
