- Assistant/Associate Tenure- or Clinical-Track Professor, Flint Social Work Department, College of Health Sciences (Hybrid)

Be at the forefront of change and become part of the innovative and forward-thinking academic team at the University of Michigan-Flint's Social Work Department in the rapidly expanding College of Health Sciences! The Social Work Department is searching for an Assistant or Associate Professor in either a tenure- or clinical-track who will teach in the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs. This instructional position can be either a 9-month or 12-month appointment. We are particularly interested in candidates whose substantive areas include mental health practice, behavioral health practice, evaluation of clinical practice, trauma-informed practice, and social work practice in healthcare settings, and who are highly collaborative in their approach to teaching and learning. The BSW program is fully accredited. The MSW program is currently in candidacy and aims to achieve Initial Accreditation by summer 2027. This is a full-time, hybrid position. Currently, faculty in the College of Health Sciences are required to report to campus minimally two days per week.

Responsibilities
TeachingTeach in both the BSW and MSW programs.
ScholarshipDevelop and maintain a scholarly agenda according to the College of Health Sciences scholarship requirements for Tenure- or Clinical-Track Faculty and accreditation criteria.
ServiceAll CHS faculty members are expected to provide service to the University, college, department, profession, and the community. Consistent with the mission of CHS and the University, professional service contributions to the Flint and regional community are valued as well as national and international contributions.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
Minimum educationClinical-Track: An MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and an accredited University
Tenure-Track: A PhD in Social Work or related field
Full-time, post-MSW professional practice experienceClinical-Track:A minimum of three years experience for Clinical Assistant Professor
A minimum of five years experience for Clinical Associate Professor
Tenure-Track:A minimum of two years experience for Assistant or Associate Professor
Experience teaching in higher education
To be considered for a Tenure-Track position, must meet above requirements and demonstrate ability to conduct impactful scholarly research and publish in peer-reviewed venues
Desired Qualifications
For a Clinical-Track position, a DSW or PhD is preferred
Experience teaching BSW or MSW courses at a CSWE-accredited program in various teaching modes, including online synchronous and asynchronous courses, as well as face-to-face courses
Experience teaching courses in mental health practice, behavioral health practice, evaluation of clinical practice, trauma-informed practice, and social work practice in healthcare settings
Eligibility for professional social work licensure in the State of Michigan
Demonstrated commitment to student-centered pedagogy, mentorship, and ability to work effectively with a culturally heterogenous student population
Evidence of a commitment to interdisciplinary research and obtaining external funding
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within unit and across disciplines
Experience conducting community-engaged research and/or successful collaboration with community partners
Substantial experience with CSWE accreditation and reaffirmation at the BSW or MSW level
School Social Work Certification
