Description

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive Clinical Director to lead the daily clinical operations of our ophthalmology practice. This role is ideal for a strong clinical manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing staff, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Ophthalmology experience is preferred but not required — we are willing to train the right candidate with strong clinical leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

Clinic Flow Management Ensure efficient, timely patient flow throughout the clinic; identify and resolve bottlenecks; coordinate with providers and technicians to maintain schedule integrity.

Clinical Staff Leadership & Training Oversee clinical team performance, provide ongoing training and skills development, ensure adherence to clinical protocols, and support a culture of high-quality patient care.

Scheduling & Workforce Coordination Create and manage technician and clinical staff schedules; ensure adequate coverage; oversee time-off requests and staffing adjustments.

Quality & Compliance Oversight Maintain compliance with clinical standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements; support quality improvement initiatives.

Operational Collaboration Work closely with physicians, administrative leadership, and front-office teams to optimize clinic operations and enhance the patient experience.

Requirements

Proven clinical management or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred:

Experience in ophthalmology, optometry, or another vision-related specialty. COT or COMT

Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and clinical workflows
