Virtual Physician Associates is a multi-state virtual behavioral health provider network delivering psychotherapy, medication management, and integrated behavioral health services, including Collaborative Care (CoCM) and Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) programs, in partnership with primary care practices, health systems, FQHCs, and community organizations. Position Summary
Virtual Physician Associates is seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist to serve in a dual-role capacity: maintaining an independent telehealth caseload of patients while providing in-person clinical supervision in Chicago to a cohort of four (4) psychology interns. The ideal candidate is an experienced clinician-educator who thrives in a virtual care environment, is committed to measurement-based care, and has a demonstrated track record of developing early-career clinicians.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care Remotely (approximately 40-50% of time)

• Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and psychological services to an independent
  caseload of patients via a secure telehealth platform
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and ongoing outcome monitoring
• Develop and facilitate virtual group psychotherapy sessions (e.g., CBT skills groups,
  anxiety/depression groups, and other structured, evidence-based group offerings)
• Practice measurement-based care using standardized instruments (e.g., PHQ-9,
  GAD-7), tracking response and remission against defined clinical benchmarks
• Document all clinical encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record,
  consistent with billing and compliance requirements (including CoCM/BHl
  documentation standards where applicable)
• Coordinate care with primary care providers, psychiatric consultants, and behavioral
  health care managers within integrated care programs
• Participate in case consultation, quality improvement, and program evaluation
  activities

Intern Supervision/lnternship Program Development (approximately 50-60%
of time)--In person

• Provide ongoing program development and management of internship program
• Provide oversight of secondary Psychologist Supervisor
• Provide in-person individual and group clinical supervision to four (4) psychology
  interns in accordance with applicable licensure board and training program
  requirements
• Review intern caseloads, treatment plans, documentation, and outcome data; co-sign
  clinical documentation as required
• Conduct live and/or recorded session review and provide structured, developmental
  feedback
• Complete formal competency evaluations and progress reports for the training
  program
• Mentor interns in group facilitation, including co-leading groups with interns and
  supervising intern-led groups
• Support intern professional development, including preparation for licensure and
  independent practice
• Manage clinical risk situations arising in supervisees' caseloads, including crisis and
  safety planning oversight, and escalate as needed
• Contribute to didactic training, seminars, and the ongoing development of VPA's
  training program

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an
  APA-accredited program
• Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in Illinois; willingness to obtain
  additional state licenses (or PSYPACT EPassport/APlT authority) as needed for a
  multistate telehealth practice
• Minimum of 3-5 years of post-licensure clinical experience
• Documented experience providing formal clinical supervision to psychology trainees
  (practicum students, interns, or postdoctoral fellows)
• Completion of supervision training that meets state board requirements for supervising
  pre-licensed clinicians
• Proficiency in delivering care via telehealth and comfort with EHRs, outcome
  registries, and virtual collaboration tools
• Strong working knowledge of measurement-based care and evidence-based
  treatments (e.g., CBT, ACT, behavioral activation)
• Experience developing and facilitating group psychotherapy, ideally in a telehealth
  setting
• Leadership and experience in program development and implementation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supervising within an APA-accredited internship or a training consortium
• Experience in integrated/collaborative care models (CoCM, BHI) and familiarity with
  associated billing and documentation requirements
• PSYPACT participation
• American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) certification desired
• Experience serving rural, Medicaid, and other underserved populations
• Bilingual capability (e.g., Spanish, Haitian Creole) a plus
• Experience contributing to program evaluation, quality improvement, or grant-funded
  clinical program
